WARNING: WHAT DID YOU SAY? In July 2018, a blood test confirmed leaky gut syndrome, parasites inside his blood stream & low oxygenation of the blood. He was refusing everything alternative & drug related (yes, I became desperate) This was critical & needed our attention STAT!... IMPORTANT -WHAT DID WE DO? We began focusing on Garrett’s gut health & Gut-brain connection in November 2018 after I began researching online about leaky gut syndrome. The results have been remarkable. Within a couple of weeks, Garrett started making eye contact with us , then singing out loud, to eventually using words so clearly, then sentences to express his needs. Garrett’s improvement over these past 8 months clearly indicate his body is improving almost daily but... Last weekend marked a new milestone Garrett gave us the greatest gift of all. He joined us for over 1 hour of Family photos. I know that there are loving parents that are desperately looking for solutions for help. I have probably been were you are right now. WARNING- VULNERABLE POST It has been a long time since an update with our son. We have been reflecting on such a "breakthrough" year for our son. An absolute blessing from God. ... Our focus has been on the entire families gut health, helping other families with their Mental Wellness & truly taking in all the teachable moments knowing all our children are a gift from God. I would have to admit somewhere between Garrett's second detox & homeschooling, I have lost focus on what matters most...my self care I am excited to be attending a women's conference this weekend because it is time to reignite my flame. Self care is not selfish. 2020 is about building a community of passionate parents that want to dig in & help all children with their mental wellness so that they have a future. The best word to describe 2019 is "BREAKTHROUGH". Garrett took giant leaps into our world. We have New language/communication everyday... We have closed the gap in our developmental delays We have interaction with siblings & peers. We have helped other families navigate through Autism We have challenges that still present themselves yet... We have HOPE that with every valley ...comes a blessing! Thank You to our friends & family for your support in 2019. 2020 is going to be a year of growth in all areas of our life as we begin taking the giant steps towards many of our biggest goals.
