There are only a few weeks left in the semester. If you’re graduating, you need to fill out a Grad Application & Bursary form. This can be filled out and submitted online through our website (waec.ca). Follow the prompts under Academics & Classes Graduation. Hard copies are also available in the Guidance Office.
Winter Break is over! School is back. Remote Learning begins today for the next two weeks. Visit our website (waec.ca) for links to teacher sites, blogs, and Google Classrooms.
Alison and John used the 3D printer to bring student artwork to life. These pictures were turned into cookie cutters, just in time for some holiday baking!
Registration for the second semester is open. For more information visit our website: waec.ca or call the school at: (204)-947-1674 We’re here when you’re ready!
There is no school tomorrow. We will see you on Monday!
Our internet network is not working at school today. The Division is working on it. Sorry to anyone who is at home and is trying to log on for remote learning. We will let you know when it’s up and running again!... Thank you for your patience.
Did you know that we offer resource support for remote learners? Ask your teacher for the class code and you will be able to receive the same help that you would normally get in the Library. Here’s Mabini helping a student at home with their science homework.
Remember: there is no school on Monday. Enjoy your weekend. We will see you on Tuesday!
Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow. We will see you on Monday!
It's never too late to graduate! Kimberley-Anne Struve stopped by today to pick up her diploma that she earned in the spring. Who needs a cap and gown when you can wear a cap and mask!... Congratulations Kimberley-Anne! @winnipegsd
Google Meet, a document camera, dual monitors, sanitizer, face masks, and trigonometry... just another day of teaching in 2020 for Bheesham!
Today we were honoured to have Lieutenant Colonel Robert Nash (virtually) join us to speak at our Remembrance Day service. Lieutenant Colonel Nash served in the Canadian Forces for 30 years and in the Royal New Zealand Air Force for 6 years. He deployed to Qatar during the 1st Gulf War, to Bosnia-Herzegovina with NATO, and to Kananaskis in 2002. Lieutenant Colonel Nash is currently the president of the Winnipeg Chapter of the Canadian Military Intelligence Association. This m...orning Lieutenant Colonel Nash reminded us about the importance of Remembrance Day, by interweaving stories from Canadian military history - both distant and more recent. We learned about Canadian heroes from Sgt. Tommy Prince to Capt. Jennifer Casey. Thank you Lieutenant Colonel Nash for taking the time to speak with us today, and for everything you have done (and continue to do) for Canada.
Reminder: there are no classes tomorrow. We will see you on Monday!
Exciting news! Our Student Lounge has re-opened. This is a safe space for students to use to study, eat, do homework, hangout, or have a coffee - all while keeping a 2 metre distance. The Student Lounge is located in Room 102, right by the main entrance.... Stop by and use this great space!
Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday. Have a great weekend. We will see you on Tuesday.
Teaching looks a little different these days. In Karlisle’s English 10E class, half of his students are in the room, while the other half learn remotely. Karlisle uses Google Meet to live-stream his classes and Google Classroom to upload his assignments and lessons. Here’s a picture of Karlisle in action, while one of his students participates from the Library.... @winnipegsd

Orange Shirt Day is next week: Wednesday, September 30. Orange Shirt Day was started as a way to honour children who were sent away to Residential Schools. It has since grown into a national conversation about their legacy and lasting impacts, and an opportunity to work toward reconciliation. There is no better way to join this movement than to learn something new.... In the Library we have a lot of great books that cover Indigenous themes and are written by Indigenous authors. Fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, young adult, memoirs - you name it, you can find them in the WAEC Library. Come on up to the third floor to check them out. #EveryChildMatters #WinnipegSD
