JCFS has a new group!

For there is always light. If only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it. Amanda Gorman’s inspiring words are universally relevant as we move into 2021. We are coming up to the one-year anniversary of the COVID 19 pandemic. A milestone that not many of us would have predicted! On approximately March 13, 2020, our city, country, and bit by bit, the world shut down and our lives, as we knew it, changed considerably. March 12 marked our last in-per...son program. I remember reticently hugging one of our speakers and did not really understand that this would possibly be the last hug to someone outside of my household for a long time. No longer could we think that we, in our small part of the world, would be protected and would be affected so profoundly. Knowing that we’re ‘all in this together’ gives us some comfort. However, as the days and months ensued, it was hard to see the end in sight. Uncertainty, losses, service restrictions, business struggles, had huge impacts on lives. A sudden void was created in social interaction which normally can help us cope with feelings of anxiety, depression, and loneliness. A vaccine in the horizon gives us hope, but how do we more than get through but thrive, over the next months and thereafter?? (Feel free to respond) Let’s connect, create and come together! Stay tuned for JCFS’s 2021 Winter virtual programs. Our aspiration/prayer is that we all find peace, compassion, joy and connection despite these challenging times. For there is always light.
