Phoenix Alumni Alejandro Vasquez I started my soccer career at the age of 6 at the community club level, from 2001-2005. In 2006 I began playing at the premier level with Phoenix club! Where I spent most of my youth playing and training. I won four city championships with my respective age group! I also started to play age advanced through the phoenix system and then later joined the U14provincial squad, where I competed at the highest level in the province. I joined the Re...gional Training Center/National Program the following school year in September. My time there though was short lived. In December I participated in a 2-week trial at the Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in Belo Horizonte, Brazil! Where I was asked to return for an extensive futbol program & also play with their U16-U17 Reserve squad. When I returned from Brazil, I continued my training regimen until the chance to play in Europe arrived. I was fortunate to play in FC Spartak Trnava, Slovakia! After my stint in Slovakia, I had a successful trial at Real Salt Lake Grande Sports Academy in Casa Grande Arizona. Where I was asked to return for the 2012-2013 Academic School Year. During this same time, an opportunity presented itself, to train & play in Toronto for renowned Chilean Footballer and Fifa World Cup Player Carlos Rivas!! I chose Toronto and during that time I was able to make my way to Malaga CF La Liga’s U23 squad in Spain. Upon my return in August 2013, I was placed on the Roster for the Canada Summer Games. I was to represent Manitoba! Shortly thereafter travelled to Chile, S.A for tryouts with Clube Deportivo Palestino, Premier Division Reserve Squad. Here I had been asked to return in January 2014 during the open transfer window but could not return due to an injury. After my recovery, in 2015 I returned to Chile. I signed my first contact for Deportes Limache. I played my first year there but acquired an Achilles injury which took me out for the season. The following year I returned and played a full season with Deportes Marga Marga in the Chilean 3rd B division. I then transferred to Deportes Rengo 3rd A division as we came up short on goal difference to be promoted to Primera B division in Chile. After my final year in Chile I decided to come home at age 22. I was given the chance to train and play in Italy for U.S Arce 1932 in Italy! From there I looked for another opportunity in New York and was offered to travel to Denmark for a residency program. I decided to turn it down and peruse another love and passion of mine in the fitness industry. I became Personal Trainer at Goodlife Fitness. I also got certified as a Strength and Condition Coach and a Certified Nutritionist. Working with Athletes and everyday people. I have also returned to help coach and train with Phoenix! See more

Thursday Cook & Chat! 6pm. Janelle is a Registered Dietitian with a passion for sport, who strives to help athletes achieve their athletic potential by helping them properly fuel their bodies. She has worked with athletes/teams from recreational to national level, with most of her work currently being with university level athletes. ... She received a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science followed by a Bachelor of Science, Human Nutritional Sciences. To continue her education in the field of sports nutrition, she attended the Dietitians of Canada & Sports Dietitians Australia 4-day Intensive Sport Nutrition Course, completed the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition and is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). Janelle competed as a University of Manitoba Bison in Cross-Country and Track and Field, and is also a Competition Development (Level 3) trained coach in Athletics. Currently, Janelle is working with Bison Sports, Canadian Sports Centre Manitoba and in a medical clinic.
