Winnipeg River Advocate 16.01.2021

Here is one of our latest acquisitions for the 11th Crèche Festival that we have been trying to get from Egypt over the last three years. Thanks to World Nativi...ties based in the U.S we have our very own Coptic Christian Nativity made by artisans out of Urepan wood. The backdrop was created by Gil Hallgrimson & Edgar Dubé with finishing touches by yours truly. It will be featured as well in the virtual exhibit coming soon. Joyeux Noel! See more

Photo: The Pine Falls Dock on Sunday, October 11 during the Annual St. Georges Voyageurs Walleye Classic. By Don Norman Despite COVID and some pesky winds, the Annual St. Georges Voyageurs Walleye Classic Derby was a success, according to derby organizer, Steve Kush. Because of the pandemic, numbers were down this year. This year they only 58 boats entered, and Kush said they normally like to hit about 100. Photo: St. Georges, Manitoba By Don Norman It's been a tough year for everyone and stories of overcoming the difficulties can be inspiring. For the past several years it’s been a bumpy ride establishing Le P’tits Loups Inc, a French day care in St. Georges, and the challenges of COVID-19 only made it bumpier. We have struggled financially and we have struggled to find qualified, french staff too work in our rural french childcare center, said Cédelynne Lachance, Director of Les P’tits Loups Inc.
