During these strange days of COVID-19... we may not be able to get together to workout at the WRC, but we can still be outdoors, be active, and have fun! And, we can play bingo... :) The WRC Socially Distanced Winter Bingo Challenge starts now! We’ve come up with 30 activities to encourage WRC members to stay active and have some fun. Here is how it works: 1. Each spot on the BINGO card requires a photo or selfie to be emailed to [email protected] or posted on... your personal Instagram account with @Winnipegrowing tagged. Be social! We’d like to share and repost some photos on our feeds! 2. Include the Bingo Square number in your message or post! 3. Please ensure that you’re following government guidelines for safety and social distancing. 4. For bonus points, WEAR OR DISPLAY A WRC ITEM (t-shirt, mask, singlet, water bottles, etc in the photo). 5. Encourage house members to join in the activities with you. 6. PRIZES!! Prizes for participation and if you are the first to complete the whole BINGO card. 7. Have fun and stay safe!

Congratulations to WRC member Sandra Kirby, one of seven Manitobans named to the Order of Canada. She is being recognized for her pioneering research on athlete harassment and for sustained efforts as an advocate for equity, inclusion and safety in sport.

WRC response to Covid-19 By now you have heard through the news or social media that three Coronavirus cases (COVID-19) have now been confirmed in Winnipeg. Schools, libraries, rec centres and pools are being closed, many are being asked to work from home and limit social gathering to under 150. Best wishes from everyone at the Winnipeg Rowing Club to Rianne Boekhorst, who recently made the move to the west coast to train with Rowing Canada Aviron. Her rowing journey began in 2016 on the Red River, and she has worked incredibly hard since then.
