In Fairbanks, Alaska: News-Miner opinion: The Chena Tool Library is now open. More than 90 tools are available for checkout including woodworking tools, pneumatic tools, yard tools and food tools. For a remote community where do-it-yourself is a way of life, the new tool library is a triumph for Fairbanks. It is open from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at 1072 Dolphin Way.

<< Council will dole out just shy of $500,000 to local organizations for construction projects and programs that aid the community, a total of 15 ventures that includes everything from an affordable dental clinic to a tool library. >>
