Many of you are wondering if we will be open to teach, have questions about other options or refunds or transfers. I'd like to address all those concerns in this email. First of all if you are enrolled in MECH1230 at Conestoga College it will be entirely up to the college to run the class but feel free to reach out to me directly if you'd like other options or have questions about what will likely be expanded fall classes. Right now if I can be open and teach, I will (curren...tly closed but open for service by appointment, pick up and drop off available and tool and part sales by appointment, pick up or drop off as well). Should you feel uneasy about attending if we are able to host the class, you are welcome to request a transfer to a later date or a refund for your administration fee. If we can't host you will be welcomed to transfer to a later date or get a refund. I'm also willing to transfer or refund the fee up to the planned day the day of class. As soon as I get word on what we will be able to do I will let you know. If this goes long term, I'll also be willing to host one on one or two training during the weekdays and weekends. That way everyone can keep a large distance and it will be easier to keep the tools sanitary. In that case the student will get their own set of tools to work with. The next major update will come from the Government of Ontario on April 14th when at that time it will be announced if the state of emergency will be extended for another 2 weeks. Feel free to reach out in advance if you are interested in private training / bike repair. However we won't be looking at that option in detail until the 17th. Conestoga College has canceled all classes from Monday (16) to Friday (20) This does not effect MECH1400 or MECH1230 at this time.

I just wanted to reach out and address some concerns. In in Ontario as of the time I write this of the 5129 COVID-19 tests that have been administered we have only seen 74 positive results. That is 1.4%. (March 13, 2pm) Most individuals exhibiting symptoms of cold and flu do not have COVID-19. https://www.ontario.ca/page/2019-novel-coronavirus <---A good read... That being said and facts being what they are we would like ask any students who have traveled outside Canada 3 weeks prior to the start of class to let us know and we or the college will refund your fees or transfer you to another class. The overwhelming majority of cases within Canada are directly related to travel outside of Canada. We also ask our students is to maintain good hygiene and follow appropriate hand washing procedures. Anyone exhibiting symptoms of illness will be asked to leave immediately and refunds will be issued. We have a small classes and are comfortable hosting you. There will be no more than 10 of us in the class including the instructors whom live in the same household with no children. If any changes are made to policy or additional public health measures are issued affecting WBI or the College you will be notified.
