WISE Acadia

Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre in partnership with Digital Nova Scotia, will be hosting virtual programming for students in grades 6-8 this fall and in the Spring of 2021. The program will combine digital technology and innovation workshops with entrepreneurial skills development workshops that focus on problem-solving, communications, critical thinking and teamwork, all skills valued by today’s employers, and aligned with learning outcomes. These workshops will challenge you...th to use technology and innovation to solve real-world problems and provide guidance and business models to test their ideas. An introductory workshop is being hosted virtually via the Zoom platform in November and weekly workshops will begin in January 2021, and run until March. The programming will culminate in a showcase where students can pitch their ideas to a jury panel for a chance to win prizes and gain valuable feedback. WISE Acadia Students are currently accepting sign-ups for the NetWorKiT Mentoring Program! If you are a young woman in grade 11 or 12 who would like support in navigating your education, career path, or future we encourage you to consider signing up to be paired with an Acadia student mentor. On Monday WISE Acadia campers Teamed Up with Julia Whidden to learn more about marine biology! The participants had so many cool questions for Julia!
