Day 3 on snow and loving it! Dynastar

Incredible to be back on snow. Looking forward to an amazing ski season on Dynastar, Lange, Look Bindings and proud to partner with XSPEX WORLD goggles!

Many of us were devastated when the ski season ended so early and abruptly. First and foremost, I applaud the ski industry for taking action and being a part of the solution to this pandemic. For me, the 18/19 season ended on January 27, so you can imagine how much I wanted and needed to be back on snow this year. What does a full time skier do when they can no longer ski? Here’s what I did and believe it or not, I started this season skiing better than ever. For weeks I ...was in bed or on the couch waiting for the green light to weight bear again, so I spent hours every day just looking at ski videos. I watched everything from freestyle, to big mountain, racing and past Interski footage. I analysed the movements that the skiers were making and the results of those movements in terms of turn shape and performance. Based on my personal skiing goals, I then narrowed down the footage to a few clips that had the movements and outcomes I was trying to add to my skiing. I visualized how to move, when to move and what it may feel like when I get back on snow. By the time the snow hit, I had mentally prepared myself for what I was going to do. I methodically broke down the movements and developed them until I found the outcomes I was searching for. Within weeks, I was skiing better than ever. Caution. visualize the movement patterns and the outcomes as opposed to what the skier looks like. We are all built differently, we may have different equipment, skiing on different conditions or simply be at a different place in our personal development. I have never seen two people look the same. However, I have seen people ski the same mechanics and have the same outcomes and that is the goal. Never try to ski the way someone else looks...ski the way they ski. So for fun, here is a clip of a technical series I was developing this spring. Unfortunately, the season being cut short stopped me from gathering all the footage I need for the rest of the series. So for now, please enjoy and come fall, I will complete the series.
