Passing along a note from HRM that they're looking at and planning for a major Category 1 Hurricane. Sustained wind speed of 100km/hr with gusts above 130km/hr ...causing major tree and limb damage, storm surge causing waves up to 15metres high, and rain exceeding amounts of 100mm with major flooding. This storm begins to collect power in the early afternoon, tomorrow, Saturday and should continue through Sunday morning. 311 will be operational and road operations will be fully staffed during and more importantly after, the storm. The city will be addressing all debris, flooding, and tree calls in priority order. Stay inside, make sure you have food and water and plan for a sustained power outage. Be safe! If you do need to leave your home tomorrow, please check with businesses, offices and services about reduced hours or closures due to the storm. The Sullivan's Pond concert on Sunday is cancelled.
