"People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing that’s why we recommend it daily." - Zig Ziglar on Personal Development Love all Zig Ziglar's quotes but this one hits a high note. Training Coaching, Mentoring and Motivation can only last a short span then it needs to be fuelled with constant and persistent nurturing. Jeffery Gitomer a Sales Professional, Sales Guru, and exceptional Non Fiction Author has and will continue to be one of my most inspirational Coaches. I have only met him once in person at his first ever Boot Camp in Florida years ago and he was everything I thought he was and more. Never stop learning, never stop reading inspirational books, and find a Coach that will continue to Motivate the exceptional unique person you are and can be.

Most Empolyee Benefits programs love two aspects of their Insurance Policies, the continuous revenue stream and the ability to deny claims, mostly attributed to their small print that vertally nobody reads. Point in question the many news reports of individuals who have been effected by Covid-19 and are now experiencing long term debilitating effects. Many people purchase Insurance to protect themselves, with many Employee Benefit Plans the right to choose is not an option, e...very empolyee must sign up, pay, and be covered. As Sales Performance Coach I have worked in and around the Automotive Industry for years helping many Sales Professionals become more confident and successful at their profession. I certainly have in addition helped many Finance Managers with marketing Credit Insurance. The stories I have heard and witnessed where Consumers rejected Creditor Insurance, instead relying totally on their Empolyee Benefits Policy only to find out when making a claim, it's denied, have not been 'few and fare between'! This is not to say Credit Insurance Companies don't deny claims, they do, yet many of them actually look for a reason to approve, not just immediately jump to a denial. And for someone who has been around this industry, Insurance, in one capacity or another, for more than 30 years , I think "I know a thing or two." See more

The 'essence ' of true, value added Leadership. It's not about you, as a Leader, it's about those that will follow you, your pleasing personality and your commitment to excellence.

What is the Catalyst in a successful Team? Many companies have determined and experienced that it is the development of their talen asset; - people. Believing that talent is as essential as capital has and will continue to be how to dominate your segment or field of business you are in. What holds many companies back are two essential ingredients Money, you have to pay, and choosing the right Coach and or Mentor. Training, either through a Seminar or Workshop is a great start, however like a compeitive sports team, you need someone who can Facilitate then follow up with Coaching and or Mentoring. Not every specialized Facilitor- Instructor can or has been experienced at that process. Training, Coaching, Mentoring is not a destination its a journey.

What is the difference between a Coach and a Mentor? A Coach will teach you skills , whereas a Mentor helps you become the best you, you can be. Having a Coach who is also a Mentor gives you the advantage of learning a skill or skills so that you can achieve your goal plus helping you better understand yourself so that your uniqueness stand out and shines!

How important is 'Teamwork'? I love this story that Havey MacKay tells: "A salesman is driving on a two-lane country road in a rainstorm and gets stuck in a ditch. He asks a farmer for help. The farmer hitches up Elmo, his blind mule, to the salesman's car and hollers out, "Pull, Sam, pull!" Nothing happens. He then tells, "Pull, Bessie, pull!" Still nothing happens. "Pull, Jackson, pull!" Still nothing. Finally he hollers, "Pull, Elmo, pull!" And Elmo rips the car right out of the ditch. The salesman is confused and says, "I don't understand. Why did you have to call out all those names?" The farmer states, "Look, if he didn't think he had help, he wouldn't ever try!"

Crush Fear Fear is a paradox! The thing that scares you is the very thing that can push you further, higher, faster. Do you recall some of the times in your life that FEAR confronted you? The first time you road a bike, the first time you were placed behind the wheel of a vehicle to learn how to drive? Did you have these thoughts; "What if I hit someone or some thing?" "What is I lose control?" "You have only been doing this for ___, you don't know enough!" "What if I fall and hurt myself?" All elements of 'FEAR', yet today most of us can drive, most of us think of riding a bike as second nature. We faced FEAR and over came it. As we enter this New Year face, like you have in the past, and face FEAR with optimism that you will succeed. "Do what you FEAR most and you will conquer that FEAR." Dale Carnegie

I heard this statement this morning; "You do not judge a persons character by the things that are going right, you judge a persons character by the actions and words they use when things are not going good." Powerful statement! "When the going gets tough, the tough get going," but not in a negative way that effects others but in a way that 'LIFTS' others 'UP' to meet the challenges and overcome them! Leadership is about providing 'Strength' to succeed, not 'punishment' for falling short! Great Leaders know this and will employ their efforts for 'good' not to 'destroy'!

The pulse of any organization is determined by 'gathering facts and feelings'. How is this accomplished? Well certainly not by siting in a office and reviewing sales and activity numbers. The 'walk about' is a process that some entrepreneurs utilize to gather actual and visual readings of how their company is doing. Leaders who want to know exactly how their Team is functioning, especially in today's economic situation, they need to actually discover by walking around and tal...king with each Team member and have frank and open, (non- judgemental), conversations. The Disney Corporation has been successful in creating the "Happiest Place on Earth" by utilizing this very same activity, "Walking the Park", and implementing a Training/ Coaching / Mentoring regiment that compliments the needs and creates the desired outcome they want to achieve, success! Some Leaders in today's corporations still utilize the 'autocratic leadership' style that has been left over from the post-World War 11 era. The younger generation today demand a more 'inclusive style' of leadership, they need to feel part of the solution not intimidated as part of the problem. Managers who cling to the 'autocratic ' approach utilize 'physical presure' to make things happen. Whereas 'Leaders' that are more inclined to utilize a 'Inclusive Style' will emplo...y a 'psychological ' remedy to direct things to happen. What becomes evident in the 'autocratic ' approach is it creates conflict and moral issues. In these corporations a 'drifter' culture exists. In the 'Inclusive ' approach a more cohesive 'non-drifter' culture tends to dominate. In simple terms, the 'Autocratic Style' creates a revolving door environment whereas the 'Inclusive Style' creates harmony and longevity. See more

Walt Disney knew the value of learning as much as possible about the 'front lines' and he did this by spending time on the front lines. I recall a Ford Dealer who would take lunch everyday then when he returned to his Dealership would not be available for any scheduled or unscheduled meetings for the next (2) hours because he would make a point of having a short conversation with all his staff starting with Service. He would also chat with Customers when the opportunity was presented. When anyone asked him, "How was business?", his response would be related to reality-based information. He intuitively new the pulse of his business. Peter Drucker famous Professor and Author on Leadership called this 'Managing by wondering'!

Balance your Art and Science to be successful. Walt Disney University asks "Is there an equivalent to a cranky Snow White, an unenthusiastic Jungle Cruise skipper, or a broken-down Jungle Cruise boat in your organization?" (Arts relate to people, Sciences relate to equipment). Many organizations have to some extent some individuals or equipment that need servicing. Sometimes these 'Arts or Sciences' are ignored or apathy causes these issues to be overlooked. It is essential ...for both these issues be addressed immediately before they become problematic and spread. When its people, moral, work ethics, and attitude, are often what needs attending too. When its equipment the sooner they are repaired the better for they could cost you much needed revenue. Training, Coaching, and Mentoring all play a part in a viable solution for both 'Art & Science' in any organization. Is now the right time? Consider the cost in procrastination over implementation! "A cast packed with potent supporting role talent can be responsible for the success of a production, but the converse is equally true." Walt Disney University I recall years ago when I was asked, enlisted actually, to be a Baseball Coach so that our Son Ryan could play. Unbeknownst to me , other than my Son, I was given the left-overs from all the other assembled teams. At first I could see I had my work cut out for me and my assistant coaches. I possessed no superstar play...er or players that was for curtain. I worked on and concentrated my efforts on 'team-work' and the fundamentals. Everyone on the team played a part and the result was we came in second over all and only lost by (1) run in the city wide championship. This surprised a lot of other Coaches, Parents, and other players. Keep in mind this was little league not the major league, teamwork makes a huge difference. The co-stars in many different endeavors are your advatage over your competitors especially when they work as a cohesive group. See more
