February is recognized as African Heritage Month in Nova Scotia. https://ansa.novascotia.ca/african-heritage-month In 1995, Canada’s government officially recognized February as Black History Month.... https://www.canada.ca///campaigns/black-history-month.html Black History Month is a time to celebrate and remember all the ways that Black Canadians have contributed to Canada’s history and culture. Throughout February, this celebration provides a chance to learn about and place some focus on African cultures, which the staff and students are doing here at WNES. Our goal is to be culturally responsive all year long. :)

Friday morning announcements at WNES. The Grade 6 students have taken on this responsibility like a group of pros! They share and rotate the jobs and responsibilities. The difference between even last week and this week is exciting!
