Coffee, please? Yes, our coffee4kids.ca program is still operating. We have had so many of you ask this very important question. The entire Food4Kids Waterloo ...Region is sending our kindest thoughts out to Nadine Doyle, and the entire Hacienda Sarria operation. The pandemic has levelled a horrible blow to them. Coffee4kids.ca, which was created by Michael Brown, Fibernetics, to feed kids served by Food4Kids Waterloo Region, is still being supported by the Hacienda Roasting Company who uses only the finest in-season beans from around the world. You can purchase this gourmet coffee in 5 varieties, ground or whole bean and in 2 sizes. AND, it FEEDS CHILDREN - every bag you purchase feeds a child for an entire weekend. 750 Kids need your support.

We have so many hardworking folks who work behind the scenes to keep our program humming. Here are just a few who sprang into action during our first week back ...to school in the ' new normal'. THIS WEEK - Food baggers Lora, Lynn, Mary, Marg and Carmel bagged up 600 bags each of loose bread and cereal for our kids. Our favorite handyman Jay drilled holes in 75+ new bins for us (stops them from sticking). Michelle our resident "Bag Lady" manages every single bag we fill. She ensures they are counted, separated and then applies stickers to ensure they end up going to the proper child. Many hands make light work and everyone's contribution is vital to our success. #thankyou #makingithappen #vounteersrock #behindrthescenes See more

Mindfulness means taking time to notice our thoughts, feelings on the inside and outside. Taking a mindfulness walk can be a way to help young people explore mi...ndfulness, and get used to paying attention to the present moment and themselves in that space. If you have the chance to get outside, go for a walk and take a moment to be silent, while watching and listening for anything new or different in your surroundings. Before you go back inside, ask: What did you see? Hear? Feel? If outside is inaccessible, play Eye Spy! Encouraging kids to choose unusual, or small things that they don’t usually notice around them.
