Barbell Hip Thrust - There’s a stigma around that only women who want bigger butts should be doing Hip Thrusts but that just isn’t true. The Hip Thrust works the glutes sure, but who doesn’t want stronger glutes? The glutes are the primary hip stabilizer and has great carryover to many other movements and sports. - One of the biggest reasons I enjoy hip thrusts soo much is because it is a fantastic way to load up the posterior chain and has a very low injury rate. Are squats... and deadlifts bad? Absolutely not. Completely dependant on the person and what stage they are in. But the hip thrust is generally safer when performed correctly. - Begin on the ground with your back against the bench. Prop yourself up so that the corner of the bench is just under your shoulder blades and feet are roughly under your knees (exact position will vary per person). From there you want to pivot around the bench while keeping a tight core. Drive through your heels on the way back up and squeeze the glutes at the top. Keep your eyes locked on the horizon throughout the movement. - Once you get higher in weight a pad becomes necessary. Just a heads up See more
