Happy & Healthy @ Victoria, British Columbia

Two years ago today everything changed. The trajectory of my life and career were completely kicked off course and everything I had worked so hard for had to be rebuilt. I won't go into all the ways this experience changed or challenged me, but I will say that I am now in a place where I can be thankful of the lessons I learned from it. The support I have around me, the person I am today, and the future in front of me is bright. While in Vancouver on Wednesday, for no reaso...n at all I was attacked by a homeless guy outside a restaurant in Kits. While protecting a patron and my girl from the violence, he grabbed a hockey stick. He cracked me in the head with it pretty good and took off. Luckily I am alright and was able to get everyone back in the restaurant and locked the door before he came back. Vancouver hospital were really good to me. They got me in for an CT right away and luckily my brain is still in one piece. However, the doc told me that I would need plastic surgery on my broken right hand. I'm still in shock about it. Barbering is my life and I'm told to not use my hand for 4-7 weeks. As alot of you know, I had just started my own business in April and things are pretty reliante on my hands to be at work. My little nurse and I are doing everything possible to mend properly. I'm never going down without a fight. The brute inside me can take a whole lot more. I'm thankful that the damage to my head wasn't serious and I'm blessed to have this much love around me. #love See more

I hate how the crown (the back) looks like it's sticking up in this shot, but I wanted to post it anyways. . Trying to find lighting that doesn't penetrate areas where the hair is in movement and therefore lighten or cause it to look uneven is the biggest annoyance for someone like me. I strive for perfection but I'm not the greatest photographer and I don't believe in photoshopping the appearance of a haircut. . More real content.... Imperfections sometimes make things perfect.
