With the holiday season just around the corner, we wanted to remind you that we have "Wolfville Dentistry" masks that make terrific stocking stuffers! You'll feel good knowing that for every mask you purchase, $5 is donated to Chrysalis House Association to help with their important work providing shelter and outreach to women and children in our local area! Masks are $10 each, machine washable with adjustable ear straps and nose bands. If you would like to purchase a mask, please leave a message at the office (902-542-3386) or email us at [email protected]!

This year in particular, we have so much to be thankful for at Wolfville Dentistry! This Thanksgiving we are launching our "Face mask Fundraiser" in support of Chrysalis House Association! For every $10 Wolfville Dentistry mask sold, we will donate $5 to this wonderful community organization which provides shelter to women and children and empowers them to have hope and live free from violence and abuse. (the remaining $5 helps to offset the cost of the masks). Masks are ...reusable, machine washable (95% cotton/5% spandex) with adjustable ear straps and an bendable nose band. They are super comfortable and "all the rage"! We even spotted these two cuties wearing them while enjoying Dr. Hennessy's back yard! Please email [email protected] for more information or contact us through Messenger!

Stress manifests in various ways in our bodies, and our teeth and jaws often bear the burden of this. The dental profession is seeing increased evidence of stress in our patients' mouths: symptoms such as increased tooth sensitivity (to temperature, and chewing pressure) as well as jaw pain, broken teeth, and fillings. Even if you feel as though you are juggling all the changes in the world with ease, remember that previously simple tasks such as grocery shopping now have... an added element of stress ("Am I going down the wrong aisle????"). All these changes are things our brains have to contend with and are interpreted by our bodies as stress. When we discuss stress with our patients, they are often shocked to hear that it can affect their oral health. Talk with your dental team if you are noticing changes in your oral health as there may be some simple solutions for you to prevent damage. https://www.nytimes.com//dentists-tooth-teeth-cracks-fract

There have been lots of changes in Nova Scotian and Canadian dental offices since our reopening. At Wolfville Dentistry we refuse to let COVID get in the way of some of the touches that make our office a lovely place to visit...like this double Asiatic Lily from Stirling Farm Market - Greenwich! Some of you may have read media reports this past week indicating that the WHO has recommended delaying non-essential dental treatment. To clarify for all Nova Scotians, and inde...ed Canadians, these recommendations are not intended for nations/regions like ours where COVID spread is well-controlled. You can read the Canadian Dental Association's response to this media confusion at the following link: https://www.cda-adc.ca//stat/who_clarification/default.asp You can also read about all the things we are doing to keep everyone safe at Wolfville Dentistry by checking out the COVID tab on our website. It even includes a video of Dr. Hennessy putting on all the protective gear we are now wearing so you can see what we will look like when you visit! https://www.wolfvilledentists.com/covid--19.html
