Fave birds in the spring...they have a crapload of babies, I have seen a Mom with 23 babies..and when there is danger they ALL jump on Mom’s back and she runs on top of the water...first time I saw it...my jaw dropped to my knees...lol

Shooting season 2017

Am so pumped and excited for this coming shooting season it feels like I am gonna explode..got a car,a kayak,new lens and a ratdog and live in the middle of photo paradise...omg...lol

To all my friends and fans I deeply apologize for not posting lately but starting a farm and Wildlife centre is exhausting and I have been working from dawn til midnight but finally I have been able to clik some pics and will be edit-ing them in the next couple days and will post more regular now

Over the past 3 months I have been telling people that I am organizing a comprehensive 2 day Photography course that will cover everything from beginner basics up to and including specific genre based skills...eg.landscape,pet,Wildlife,Bird,portrait and many other techniques and procedures. The main influence and structure of the course will be determined by the people who sign up for the course, who will fill out a basic questionnaire along with specific questions and topics they wish to learn. The Solace of the Shot.. I have found that photography,fly-fishing,golf and sobriety all have the same basis. Now you made wonder what the heck I am talking about so I am going to start writing on a weekly basis about my thoughts with the hope of maybe passing on some knowledge to those who may have a new camera or new found sobriety. When I acquired my first camera I would go out with my focus on the "one thing" and had an established picture in my mind that is what I woul...d get. If something interfered or de-focused me ,my reaction was frustration,anger,disappointment and resentment. The birds were to blame ...or the light...or my gear wasn't good enough, there was always something to blame..Suddenly one day I realized that what was preventing me from being a better photographer was the exact same thing that prevented my sobriety. Pride and stubborn determination was sucking the joy out of the thing I wanted to get joy out of.. Accept the things you cannot change! I do not control the birds nor the light and I sure as hell didn't have the money for better equipment....so what was I to do?? I figured out that to focus I had to de-focus in the sense that if I couldn't find that bird or critter maybe I should look down at my feet or see whats behind me so instead of bird photography, change lenses and do some Macro or click a Landscape shot or I always have Bear with me...pet photo..The end result was I walked away with some nice pics and learned something new. Live in the moment...so many people are absorbed in the "task" that they forget to use their ears,eyes and nose. Quite often when I am looking for something to shoot I remember to close my eyes and listen intently....robin singing....rustle in the bush or a splash in the stream..all this tells me what my eyes can not and will not see. Courage to change the things I can! Practice ,research,education,experimentation and COURAGE are all the things you can control...there is no wrong way to do photography..every camera has a Delete button and remember that every bad picture is a good picture because it shows you one more way that you don't want to do it. It is a gift not a curse.. Your one goal that you should pursue is to have fun,enjoy what you do,live the moment and accept things you cannot change...Til next week please enjoy your day... See more
