Women's Mosque of Canada 24.01.2021

Honouring Those Who Lost Their Lives Vigil to be hosted to remember the Victims of the Quebec Mosque Massacre & their Families (women and children) At the Women’s Mosque of Canada we will be hosting a special vigil and prayer for the victims of the Quebec Mosque Massacre and their families. There is no place for islamophobia and hate motivated acts in Canada or anywhere in the world.... We believe people have the right to be able to live a free and safe life no matter what their creed, ethnicity or race. We believe that mosques and sacred spaces are sanctuaries and should never experience such horrific attacks as we witnessed on Jan 29 2017. We know that islamophobia continues to be a challenge and that there is a need for education, awareness and alliances to be made to address such anti-Muslim sentiment nationwide as well as worldwide. We pray for the victims of the Massacre to rest in peace and for their families to continue to be supported as they navigate these times. We honour the role that women and mothers in particular play when it comes to healing a family and communities. We continue to remain committed against islamophobia, gendered islamophobia and all forms of oppression and discrimination. The vigil will be hosted virtually from 7:15PM 8:00PM EST online through the Women’s Mosque of Canada community page. #mosquesaresacred #womensmosque #quebecmosqueattack #resilience #strength #lovenothate #unity #courage #notoislamophobia #strongertogether #lovenothate
