WOWfit Women's Only Whole-body Fitness 08.01.2021

Growing up my coaches always demanded excellence. Some were angry, manipulative and harsh. Some were joyful, strict but happy. You can demand excellence and have joy at the same time. My teams with positive coaches thrived and I thrived in them. What we learn we take with us through life. When I play sports or have a great workout I come from a place of joy. It doesn’t mean it’s easy!! Thrive on the endorphins of reaching new levels. Enjoy the Natural high of achieving great things, at WOWfit we keep it positive. Happily intense, tough and excellent. (Pretty) Healthy Chocolate Brownies Sugar-free (mostly ;) 1 3/4 cups pitted dates (i buy the bag of dates at Costco. You can spend a lot of $$ on medjoul dates, but if you're using them for baking, the smaller, stiffer ones are just as good) 1 cup hot water 1/2 cup butter softened (or coconut oil for slightly different flavour) 2 cold eggs... 1 tsp vanilla 3/4 cup cocoa powder 1/2 cup flour (I used gluten free, the Robin Hood blend, it's pretty good but regular flour tastes better, you can also use ground oat flour, it would give a slightly heavier texture) Sea Salt Caramel Chips - Sprinkle Spray 8x8 baking pan with natural oil spray (The avocado oil at Costco is my favourite) Preheat oven to 350 In a food processor or blender puree the dates and hot water until smooth. Add butter, cream until smooth, add eggs and vanilla cream until smooth. Add cocoa and flour, mix on low until combined Spread batter into pan. Sprinkle with Chips Bake 20-25 min until edgees re set Brownies last up to 1 week in a sealed container in the fridge Except for the Sea Salt Caramel Chips these are sugar free and low in fat (for a brownie). So you can enjoy one guilt-free, and truly enjoy it! But one, not a whole row! :)

Peanutty Sesame Noodle Bowl - with Crispy Tofu and Veggies - Can be made peanut-free with Sun Butter instead, but check the expiry date, several times I have bought it and it was rancid. If it has a strong, bitter aftertaste it's gone bad. Fresh sunbutter is delicious :) Peanut Sauce 1/3 cup natural peanut butter 3 Tbsp warm water... 2 tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp seasoned rice vinegar 1 tbsp sesame oil 2 tsp maple syrup 2 tsp fresh gingerroot 2 tsp minced garlic 1 tsp sriracha hot sauce 8oz soba noodles (or brown rice) 8 oz extra-firm tofu 2tsp oil 1 large red bell pepper thinly sliced 1 cup frozen peas thawed 1/4 cup fresh cilantro toasted sesame seeds and/or peanuts for garnish Whirl together all sauce ingredients in a blender. Cook noodles or rice. Slice tofu into 1/2 inch thick pieces and blot dry with paper towels until dry to touch. Cut into cubes Heat oil, brown tofu in non-stick skillet. Remove tofu, cook and stir veggies 3 minutes. Add sauce and heat until bubbly. Add noodles, toss until veggies and noodles are evenly coated with sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and/or peanuts.
