As part of the NOW Program (Northern Ontario Women - NOW Program), they will be launching a Digital Help Desk which will assist women-owned and women-led busine...sses in Northern Ontario in the areas of Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Website Management & SEO. Industry experts in these areas will be available to assist with troubleshooting or specific questions. Webinars will be offered to introduce the help desk and provide education on these topics. Eligible businesses will also have access to a resource library of articles and videos, including ‘how-tos’ and best practices. As most of you know, every year The Womens Own Resource Centre hosts a Women In Business Trade Show during the summer months to showcase and celebrate our local women in business. This year, unfortunately, we are unable to do so as we cannot secure a location that would ensure social distancing and we want to keep our staff and clients as safe as possible. We are however going to launch a virtual Women in Business campaign on our Facebook page! This would be our 7th Annual ...Event and we dont want to skip it! How it works: Send us an email along with 1-3 images of your products/services that we can feature on our Facebook Page - [email protected] Your email should include the following information about your business: Business Name, Location, Hours of Operation, Contact, Website/Facebook link, a Summary of the Products/Services you offer and a brief introduction of yourself and your business. Each day we will do a Business Spotlight on a woman in business in the Almaguin Highlands encouraging people to shop local and spreading awareness about the unique and dynamic businesses that we have right here in our backyards. All businesses qualify even local support agencies and organizations! There is no cost to participate and we hope to run this campaign for the entire month of August! Good Morning Everyone! Just a brief update regarding WORC... WORC has remained open throughout the COVID19 Pandemic however mostly through phone, email and by appointment. Happy to say that we are now open to the public however we have implemented some measures to keep staff and clients safe. All clients visiting the office must wear a face covering unless there is an underlying condition that prevents you from doing so. Also, all clients who wish to access donations (clothi...ng, household goods, shoes, etc.) must wear gloves in addition to a mask while browsing. We have installed sanitization stations throughout the office and clients are encouraged to use them upon entering. We have also installed signage on the floors and walls for social distancing and proper procedures. We are currently limited to one client in the office at a time as we are a fairly small office so we do ask that if you see someone already in the office, please wait a moment and we will assist you as quickly as possible. We thank everyone for their cooperation in helping to keep our office safe!
