We love this simple stretch hang your body to the ground with your legs straight. Cradle your arms and gently rock back and forth to release any tension in your lower back. We know online dance classes may be challenging; Here are some helpful tips to help ensure a great Zoom experience: - please ensure your teacher can see your full body, this will allow for appropriate corrections. - we recommend that dancers join the Zoom meeting 5 minutes before their class is supposed to start. - this will put you in the right mindset for class and allows your teacher to see you clearly.... - clear an open space where you can move around freely. - if possible, using an ethernet cable, plug directly into your router or modem, this will provide a more stable internet connection. - if accessible, using an HDMI cord, connect your device to a television to view your class on a bigger screen. #woodbridgedance #onlinedance #onlinedanceclass #wsd #virtualdance #virtuallearning #2021dance #vaughandance #zoomdance See more

Hello WSD! We hope you enjoyed a relaxing and restful holiday. With current lockdown measures in place for York Region, WSD is unable to start the winter term in-studio. ... However, classes will resume on Monday, January 4th via Zoom with plans to return to the studio on Saturday, January 23. We know learning on Zoom has its challenges, however, we are grateful for the opportunity to continue dancing and training together and appreciate the effort you have all made in adapting to this platform thus far. A Zoom link will be emailed to you on the morning of your first class and the log-in information will remain the same each week. Did You Know: The Nutcracker is one of the biggest and most spectacular productions in The National Ballet of Canada’s repertoire. Each show features 233 performers (50 Dancers, 98 Students, 65 Musicians, 20 Singers). The youngest are the little mice in Act I and the Lambs in Act II.... Meet Miss Nancy/ Ms. Greyeyes: Nancy Greyeyes is the Ballet and Russian Ballet Department Head at WSD. Nancy has danced with Feld Ballets/NY, The Cleveland/San Jose Ballet, the Alberta Ballet and the Wilkes-Barre Ballet Theatre and is an award-winner at the prestigious New York International Ballet Competition (1987). ... She has performed principal roles in Eliot Feld’s A Footstep of Air, The Jig Is Up, and Bloom’s Wake, Agnes de Mille’s Rodeo, The Moor’s Pavane by Jose Limón, Roland Petit’s Carmen and Serenade and Donizetti Variations by George Balanchine. Nancy danced the Sugar Plum Fairy and Maria in The Nutcracker and the title role in Birgit Cullberg’s Miss Julie, among many others. Ms. Greyeyes holds a Master of Fine Arts in Choreography from York University, Society of Russian Ballet Associate Teacher Certification and is the Artistic Associate of Signal Theatre.
