Last week was a very sad week. About two weeks ago Shyla had a limp, then a large mass appeared, and then we were given the diagnosis of an aggressive cancer. She went downhill very quickly and last Thursday we had to put her down. Our hearts broke. We’ve always said we won the dog lottery with her. She was such a good girl. Oddly, we think she knew what was happening. Even that morning, while in immense pain, she jumped into my car as I left for school with E & S. She has never come with us before. There she was, smiling and tail wagging all the way down the highway. Her last ride. She knew. I’ll miss my shadow.

Many of you already know this, but our cows are raised on our farm for a couple years and then are sold to a local eco farm! If you have never visited them at the market or at their store, you should! They have a ton of products for sale! They are very mindful of all the products they sell and of course, the meat products are farm fresh, grass-fed and oh so good!
