Well the rain is done, the temperature is definitely warmer than North America by double digits and both Westjet and Air Canada have seat sales on right now. Good morning 2018

Two REALLY BIG milestones have been reached this week at the Wooden Mongoose. One is a fact and the other is still just rumour at this point, but if true, changes the future outcome of the Wooden Mongoose and the Placencia dramatically. FIRST for the FACT. Just two days ago we got our first ever re-book. We had guests come and stay with us for 5 days in November and they liked it so much they actually re-booked to come for 7 days in April. YAAAAAAAAAAY. That feels great.... The second is the word that the long postponed "Placencia North International Airport", (just 12 minutes north of us) that is nearly 60% complete has been bought and construction will be starting again this August of 2018 and ready within the next two to three years. LIFE CHANGING for us here and access for you to get here. WOW. Interesting to see if it really is for real. Here's an aerial photo. The runway is apparently long enough to land 787's. That's a pretty big deal. Welcome to the Wooden Mongoose. :)

The Wooden Mongoose has just purchased our first two brand new rental bikes and helmets. We are just working out the details to add our own rental car as well. Also, we have some fun local, inexpensive ways set up now for people to get to and from the village without renting a car and for a few more day trips to fish, snorkel or see local Belizean, birds, nature and animals .
