Trail repairs Update Oct 2/20. Well a big thank you and a shout out to the Next Level Enterprise crew. They spent 2 days hauling semi loads of gravel and spreading it out at 2 of our trouble spots. These spots had some very nasty finger washouts or insanely deep water holes which were very difficult to navigate. They spent a lot of time and fuel for free to donate to the club and the trail repairs as they ride ORVs too. Thank you so much never seen these spots look so good...! Thanks Sandhogs Exec

Trail Update Sept 25/20. We checked the whole trail today and everything is clear of hazards and downed trees. The trail is in good to very good condition over all. Still have a few trouble spots to deal with thou but each have a bypass if need be. Just a reminder that the Adult teen challenge ride is tomorrow and they will be doing the trail counter clockwise from Woodridge and using the Eastman day use spot for their lunch at suicide hill, then heading back along the trunk... line trail to do the west side of the trail in the afternoon. Thank you to Eastman for allowing the use of the trail section and the lunch spot for the ride. They have 100 registered riders so please be mindful of the additional traffic tomorrow if your out on the trails. Thanks Sandhogs Exec

Adult teen challenge ride Sept 26th. Hi folks just wanted to let riders know that this coming Saturday the Adult teen challenge ride will be happening. They are using the Sandhogs trail and using the Eastman picnic area for a food stop. They are totally full for their pre-registrated riders at 100 people and can not accept anymore riders , so good to hear they were able to fill their capacity of riders for the event. Trail Conditions Sept 11/20 Well thanks to our members the trail is open and clear of downed trees. Barry, Doug, and Bruce thank you for your efforts and Bruce thank you it was a fun day today doing trail work with you . Trail Conditions Sept 7/20 Yesterdays strong has done some damage all over the southern province and reports of downed trees and power outages. I have noticed several trees down on our trail that I spotted from the road. We hope to be out during the week to start clearing and assess the trails. Today they are calling for 30 to 50 km winds so I would like we will see a few more come down today. If you are out riding over the next several days and or this upcoming weekend ple...ase be mindful of hazards that could be right around a corner. Sadly we had a couple of incidents out in the Sandilands Provincial forest this weekend, it was very busy out on the trails. We hope the young girl recovers quickly. The other 2 incidents only resulted in minor injuries and vehicle damage.

Very sad to see this. Alot of hard work goes into our trail systems and day use areas etc. We see enough damage from rain storms, wind storm , logging etc and now seeing this is just plane sad.

Trail Conditions Aug 31/20 The Little Bigfoot trail is in good condition and free of any hazards. The water holes that have been an issue for most of the season are now all dried up, so now permanent repairs can be done. On Saturday we changed up and repaired some signage issues as well. Our kiosk at the staging area in Woodridge will soon have new maps showing the now changed LBT and we will include a map of the Eastman trail also, since they are linked together. We hope ...to also add a small kiosk map location at the junction of the LBT and the trunk line trail that links to the Eastman trail. Ride safe, enjoy the ride. Thanks Sandhogs Exec

Fire Rating Aug 31/20 Well with the cooler nights and yesterday's rains our current fire rating for Sandilands Provincial forest is at LOW. And with some more rains forecasted for later this week that should help keep that rating. Ride safe, enjoy the ride. ... Thanks Sandhogs Exec

Fire Rating Aug 10/20 Well it has been awhile since we had our last fire rating update since we had so much rain over a month ago. But now with our dry spell over the last 4 weeks things have really dried up. They have now posted for the Sandilands Provincial forest a rating of HIGH. Hopefully we will recieve some rains as they are predicting for Thursday as it will be much needed by then.
