Wow! Have I been gone from this page for too long now. I thought I better get some info up and make sure I still know how this all works. 2019 was an odd year; too much work and not enough time to enjoy life. However, all is not lost. I was able to get at a few projects; (pics to follow). The weather is going to be nice for bit, maybe spring is springing...let me know what you're up to. Blessings!
Another European beauty done up this spring. Thanks for choosing us to make it happen.
I like winter and the cold weather is tolerable up to a point, but when I have to shovel out the garage door from the inside, I think I would like to be done with it.
I guess the bobcat looks real!
Here is cat done for up for a couple from the city.
Hunting season has begun
I want to send a quick shout out and thank you to Crystal Bouffard and her grade 10 Wildlife Class, (they weren't that wild) for having me come in to speak. I was able to show off some of the taxidermy I have done over the past few years, thanks in part to the guidance and instruction of Karl Lansing, from Creston, BC, who also aided my recovery from a severe neurological illness. Thank you Mrs. Bouffard and Lafleche Central School. :D
Well I'm sad to say that there seems to be a trend in rising costs toward the art of taxidermy. It's getting increasingly more difficult to keep up with how quickly changes are happening, especially with the CDN Dollar fluctuating. I will try to keep my pricing fair, but I still need to live. ;) Thank you for your understanding and patience. Blessings to all this summer.
Hey everyone! I apologize for not updating this page much. It has been busy for me since last summer. Slowly trying to get mounts done and out, but they seem to keep piling up as fast as they leave. Good in a way, bad in that I need an extra day in the week to get ahead... Keep checking, as I finish things off, pics to come. Have a great spring hunting season.
Couple of European whitetails from last fall.
Antelope done up for a friend. It was his first ever. Really nice buck.
A Mule Deer done up in time for Christmas. Thankful that he didn't have a red nose, :D Merry Christmas everyone
My Brother and I with a couple of bucks near the end of the season. Rut was in full swing and a hot doe was the demise of these two. Lots of fun and a bunch of frustration since the deer really weren't cooperating at all. With a little luck and a lot of God's grace, the freezer is full for another year.
So my thumb has been aching and then it got infected and then it hurt like crazy, you couldn't even touch it. Went to the doc and apparently it was broken. Got some antibiotics again to help it out, but I gotta say it is a mess. Tried doing some work on a cape and it just ain't happening. Thank goodness I can still hunt... :) Not much in the bag this year yet, but looking forward to another productive season. Hope you all are enjoying the fall weather. Remember to stay safe out there. We've heard about one incident already, let's not hear of anymore.
Saskatchewan Elk-2, Rick-0. After my second attempt at an elk here in Sask, not only did I have the opportunity of a lifetime, it was also in an area I had never been in before. Long story short, I'm driving around one morning getting a feel for the area and possible hunting spots. Hit a dead end on the road/trail turned around and a bull elk steps out of the trees 200 yrds from my truck. I watched until he committed to the open field. As he crossed a no hunting piece of prope...rty, I was going to be ready for him on the legal side of the fence. After 4 attempts to lock the clip into my rifle, he was now 300 yrds past me and catching more gears. A shot was fired to no avail. Desperately racing to cut him off at the next intersection before he disappeared forever, I got in position as he ran straight away from me, only to find the spent casing did not eject from the chamber and a second round could not get in. Good grief! Anyone want to buy a slightly used rifle? Detachable magazine, reloads not recommended. See more
