October is National Denturist Awareness Month! In 1997, it was officially announced in Canada’s Parliament that October is National Denturist Awareness Month to make the public more aware of the specialized training, education, and licensing of Denturists, and about the role of Denturists in providing patients with services to benefit their oral health. Why is October Important for Denturists?... October was declared National Denturist Awareness Month as read and declared in the House of Commons as Standing Order 31 (SO31) on Tuesday, October 7, 1997. Denturists are oral health care professionals that provide denture services directly to the public who are endeavoring to make the public more aware of this profession by promoting and advancing the profession through public education. Denturism has been a recognized health profession in Canada since as early as 1961 and all Provinces/Territories have Denturism as a regulated profession. Denturists are highly trained in the fabrication and fitting of dentures directly to the public. Denturists play an essential role in the oral health team and the overall wellness for many individuals and regular appointments with a Denturist can ensure a beautiful and healthy smile for years to come. Congratulations to this great Profession and happy National Denturist Awareness Month!.

Its great to be back at work. Its only Wednesday and our digital work flow has been moving. Very impressed with all we can do and offer to our patients. From 3D printer specialized jaw registration bases, to temporary transitional 3D printed dentures as well as final definitive milled dentures. Amazing fit, function and aesthetics.

Many local artists have been unable to showcase there amazing work, and due the new Covid-19 reality most fairs and shows have been cancelled for the season. We have joined forces with a local artist Heart Home Creativity by Vonnie Snyder and will be featuring her art at our practice. ... The two pieces showcased are: 1. Ice and Sparkles - Port Dover Acrylic 16 x 20 2. The Old Combine Shed Acrylic 16 x 20 These two pieces are for sale. With all funds going to the artist! Please Share It is with a happy heart I get to write this post. As of May 26, 2020 the Chief Medical Officer of Health announced a restart to Health Care Practices. ... We are so happy to be able to return to work. We are so grateful and thankful to our existing patients and new patients that have called for appointments, for your understanding through all of this. We will be reaching out to start booking appointments during the next week. We want to instil a sense of confidence to our patients coming back. Our practice will look a little different as we are respecting the social distancing requirements set out by public health. Our commitment to the highest level of care however is unchanged. We have updated some protocols and will be limiting the number of patients in our practice. We have updated our screening protocols as well as our hygiene station. We have improved air quality and continue to practice the highest level of Infection Prevention and Control Protocols set out by Public Health. Our new digital technologies will allow us to provide better more accurate treatment with less appointments and chair time to our patients. Our commitment to our patients safety has never been greater. There is a lot of fear spread in the news and social media regarding the return to private health care practices. I am speaking from my own opinion here! We are fortunate to be in Ontario. Our regulating bodies have always maintained stringent health standards, These have been heightened during the current epidemic. I have friends that are dentists, hygensits, chiropractors etc, all who love their profession and care about their patients. They have always taken and continue to take all necessary precautions to protect the public. These offices have been closed for 2 months and half, and in that time have made updates as necessary and have fought to keep their practice open. I have every confidence of my safety in the health care providers I will visit as things open up. My dentist, hygienist, chiropractor and massage therapist. If you are nervous or unsure, dont let the news or social media deter you, call your health care provider. They will be happy to answer your questions and inform you of the steps they have taken to protect you. I apologize for the long post, and will leave you with one more thought. Support your local business. Especially during this time of reopening. They are part of the back bone of our communities. They support local teams, charities. They bring growth to our area. So privileged to be part of this great project. Spent almost an hour today via teleconference with approx. 10 people talking about oral health! Next week we will do it again and talk about dentures and our new digital technology. Thank you to Michelle at South Gate Centre for making this happen and getting us set up.
