Unfortunately we must announce the closure of the Woodville Hiking Trail system effective January 2, 2021. We thank all the land owners, and the many volunteers over the many years who have made Woodville such a wonderful place to ride or hike. The property is for sale and the land owner has decided that closing it to public access is appropriate at this time. Please respect the wishes of the land owner.

We would like to wish Happy 95th Birthday to Edith Ball this week!We would like to wish Happy 95th Birthday to Edith Ball this week!
Apple Blossom Sunday feels very different in Woodville this year without the hustle and bustle of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hungry customers gathering in our community to enjoy our Annual Chicken Barbecue. However, the Boates’ orchard seems blissfully unaware of the changes, with its gorgeous blossoms on display this beautiful afternoon. See you all next year!
FITNESS ROOM - The Woodville Community Centre Board of Directors wishes to advise the residents of Woodville and Kings County who are members of our Fitness Room that despite the recent government announcement allowing fitness facilities to begin phasing their re-openings, the Fitness Room at the Woodville Community Centre will not be re-opening at the present time. This difficult decision was made due to the unique nature of our small, volunteer-managed fitness facility, whi...ch makes it nearly impossible to comply with the proposed recommendations and requirements for screening patrons, limiting occupancy, ensuring social/physical distancing, and carrying out cleaning and sanitizing tasks with significantly increased frequency. In the event that a facility is found to not be in compliance with these requirements, it may be forced by the government to close its doors, which is a risk we do not wish to take. We recognize that our current capacity does not allow us to comply with all of the public health requirements, so we feel that remaining closed for the time being is the most responsible course of action and is in the best interest of our patrons’ health and that of our communities. The Board of Directors will re-evaluate this decision later in the summer, with the hope of beginning to phase our re-opening in the fall. We thank all our members for your patience and understanding, and hope you have a wonderful summer enjoying the beautiful outdoors! See more
Tennis Courts are Open! The Tennis nets are up and the gates open for use. Please ensure that only singles tennis is played and only single basketball unless you are a household bubble. The area is not open for pickup basketball or ground hockey unless you are a household bubble.
It is a very quiet and sunny Apple Blossom Sunday here in Woodville on a day that we usually welcome over 3000 people into our Community for our Annual Chicken Barbeque. We look forward to seeing you all in 2021 when you will really be craving that delicious chicken.
Time for a COVID update. Things remain the same, the gym and WCC remain closed as we are a volunteer organization and are unable to maintain the intense cleaning that is required by Public Health. We apologize for the inconvienence this has caused but we appreciate the understanding of our gym members and those in the Community. If anything's changes we will let you know.
Woodville Red Cross Swimming Lessons and Day Camp cancelled for this summer.
With the NS Provincial announcement on May 1st of relaxing some of the use restrictions on outdoor space, the Woodville Hiking Trail is now open. The announcement has re-opened all provincial & municipal trails with proper social distancing still required. All playground equipment and campground use is still under restriction until further notice.
