This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others! Connect Through Conversation is a course component of Grenfell’s PSYC 3627 where undergraduate students are taught communication skills that allow them to be active listeners and incite conversation. If you would like an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with people throughout the Winter 2021 semester, please sign up by completing the form at https://bit.ly/3gDiyDl. If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact [email protected]. These conversations will take place virtually using a video conferencing platform so Wi-Fi and a phone/computer with a camera and mic are required.

On July 2, 2015, influential social activist Gemma Hickey began a 908-kilometer walk across the island of Newfoundland to raise awareness and funds for survivors of religious institutional abuse. Almost Feral celebrates the community of support that gathered around this journey and recounts Hickey’s remarkable story of self-discovery. Almost Feral is #NLReads book for January! Learn more about it in the NL Reads LibGuide: https://guides.nlpl.ca/nlreads/almost-feral

Books provide solace in times of unrest; at least, that's usually the case. Like many, I found it difficult to finish a book this past year. In the end, I did manage to find solace, and more, in these titles. - Natasha Wells, Regional Librarian What were some of your favourite reads this year? We'd love to know! #favouriteread #booksareessential To check out these titles visit www.nlpl.ca (some titles are only available at elibrary.overdrive.com).

Thank you for your ongoing and continued patience and cooperation since we opened to the public! As a reminder, when visiting the library please ensure you wear a mask and practice social distancing while browsing. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. We are doing our part to ensure your safety as well. We quarantine all books for 72 hours, screen each patron at the door, wear masks, practice social distancing, and provide hand sanitizer. We have also enhanced our cleaning protocols. We look forward to seeing you!
