KENNEL COUGH NOTICE: Hello all! Kennel cough seems to be going around the neighbourhood! Kennel cough is extremely difficult to control as dogs may be contagious when symptoms are not apparent (dogs have yet to start hacking/coughing/honking/sneezing etc). We clean all shared balls, waterbowls, etc. It seems to be affecting young dogs (under 1 year) more than older dogs - so it is likely a strain that has gone around before but the younger dogs who have not been exposed t...o it have yet to build up an immunity. Remember - the vaccine does not cover all strains - so do not assume your dog is protected! If your dog's hacking or showing any abnormal health signs (excessive sneezing, runny nose or eyes, or the usual to hacking or coughing), please do not bring them into daycare. During this time, if you suspect your dog has kennel cough, we will waive any late cancellation fees. Similarly, if you'd like to play it safe and keep your dog home over the remainder of the week, no cancellation fees will be charged! Any dog who shows up to the daycare with those symptoms will be refused or (if symptoms start over the course of daycare) will be kept separate until they can be picked up. We will do everything in our power to keep this out of the daycare, so please keep us posted with any information you have regarding your dog's health. Thank you all so much!
