New Woof Work blog! Most of our dogs will never kill anything, but because of their prey drive, they enjoy following scents, playing fetch and chasing squirrels. http://wp.me/p5qt54-iP
A brand new Woof Work blog! As far as the dog was concerned, the laneway belonged to him.
New Woof Work blog! Why dogs bite, what you can do to prevent it and what to do if it happens. http://wp.me/p5qt54-h7
Here's a great opportunity to help important research into what dogs, wolves, coyotes and other canids may be communicating with the sounds they make. You can listen to a few recordings or many of them. http://www.onearth.org/earthwire/canid-howl-project

Mounting. What's going on? Is this really okay? Does neutering make a difference? Find out on the Woof Work blog!
The next Woof Work blog--on Tuesday, March 3--is about humping, more genteelly termed "mounting" and "masturbation." It won't surprise anyone that my view is that this is utterly normal behaviour; no dog should be punished for doing it. Like humans, dogs are animals. Animals engage in sexual activity for pleasure, to relieve stress, to dispel anxiety and to procreate. Dogs don't have hangups about sex, though their owners frequently do.
Dog training. It creates some of Facebooks biggest arguments! But nothing cheeses me off more than hearing someone spout rubbish about the science not being imp...ortant. I'm not pretending to know it all but as a trainer it's my ambition to be as good as I can be! You never stop learning, so keep reading, keep going to seminars, keep studying and most definitely KEEP TRAINING! See more
I am working on a blog about dogs' imaginations, specifically about whether dogs can pretend. I'm interested in your stories and experiences if you'd care to share them. PMs are great or e-mail [email protected]
A good article. There are many reasons to question the standard dictum that dogs must be neutered at about 6 months of age. For example, sex hormones are important for healthy growth. The one thing the writer seems to overlook is that studying cancer rates in golden retrievers is important not only because 60% of goldens die of cancer, but also because cancer is ordinarily a disease of aging, yet far too many goldens get cancer at an early age. If dogs frequently develop cancer around the age of 10-12, that's one thing, but if it happens when they're 2 years old, or 4 or 5, that's something else. http://bit.ly/1FXMwvb

Not only has Ian Dunbar joined their Board, but their inaugural study is about animal ownership interaction, aiming to establish "how owner personality and psychological status affect a pet dog’s behavior." You can take part!
