Flowers.on a winter day!

So the other day I promised myself to race along with the current socks so that I could start a new project. That didn't work, but I did end up with a Very Clean corner in my laundry room. Then I did pick up the pace on the socks and last night, as I almost achieved the toe...I realized that I had put the heel on THE WRONG SIDE and the pattern has ended up on the back of the sock leg...I decided to embrace the notion of 'wabi-sabi' - the glorious imperfection of the handmade..second sock will (I hope) be the reverse...wish me luck!

The message is a good one but I just had to share the picture of this handsome fellow!

Happy Wednesday my dears! I'm hoping to be able to knit like fury today so that I can cast on another new pair of socks! (I know I could cast it on anyhow, but the number of UFOs around here is getting out of hand!) When I was in the store o Monday, I was trapped by the new colours of Bella Cash (60% Merino, 30% Nylon, 10% Cashmere) and the coordinating colours of Penna (50% Baby Suri Alpaca, 28% Extrafine Merino, 22% Nylon). I am envisioning some Very Beautiful and Cozy socks for family prezzies!

At this time when all outside is white, these colours draw my eye!

What are you making now? Socks? Mittens? A binkie? Inquiring minds would like to know!

Socks. Handknitted socks. Wonderful things to make - even better to wear - but sometimes, things happen, and they either sprout a hole or accidentally end up in the dryer!!! What to do??? Do you toss? Mend? Upcycle? I need ideas - there have been too many sock accidents around here...grumble grumble...
