Waiting is hard, but let’s #staysafestayhome so we can all enjoy moments like these in the near future Reposted @nand.v This was my view for the duration of my volunteer work in Lurin, when I wasn't looking into anyone's mouth. I didn't take many breaks except to quickly eat my lunch. The lady would always be there (in the opposite building), when I would take this br...eak. She and I would exchange glances and I would wave at her with a smile but she never smiled back. Each day that I would see her, I really wanted to make her smile but didn't know how. Who knew what she is going through. But one day I decided to pull out my phone, pointed at it and yelled out "Foto", gesturing for permission. She couldn't be bothered as you can see in the 2nd photo. Then I yelled, "foto tu sonrisa" in my broken spanish and she flashed me this gorgeous smile. And from that day onwards, I received a smile because now she had her guard down and knew that I looked forward to HER smiles. I know these are unprecedented times and we are keeping our distance, wearing our mask to protect ourselves and others but don't forget to smile. The eyes really do reflect the smile coming through and maybe this puts others at ease too. We are human, we are kind and we still care.
