Honey extraction has started. It looks, smells and tastes wonderful. Here is a picture of the fields the bees are using for foraging. So many wildflowers. I think this is wild bee balm. The honey is only filtered through two screens to remove any wax and other "bits". It is raw and unpasteurized and has tons of pollen in it. It really is amazing. Please message me if you are interested in buying a 1/2 kg (375 mls) or a 1 kg (750 mls) jar.

Hi friends. Well, what a year so far. I am so thankful to have my bees to keep me active and distracted. We did lose three hives over the winter, queen failures. But the remaining two plus a new colony are doing great. Everything seems a bit delayed this year. Honey supers on in the middle of June. We checked on Sunday and there is honey being put away in the supers, a little bit is capped, but not enough to harvest. Hoping in two weeks to have some for extraction and then sales. I have a list of people looking to buy so let me know if you want on the list. You can PM me. With only three hives there will be less honey. Hoping for sunny skies and lots of flowers. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Another year has come and gone. We are so thankful for all of the support shown to us. It has been a good year, the usual ups and downs with queens, but all the bees are healthy going into winter. We checked on them about three weeks ago and over all things seem pretty good. We feed a sugar mixture over the winter, it is a long haul from October to April. The bees produced some lovely honey this summer, about 200 lbs! The best production ...ever. They are amazing. Currently I have five (5) one kg jars available. Message me if you are interested. I can deliver in the Red Deer area. I am looking forward to starting the plan for this year, ordering equipment, and pollen patties, etc. The queens will be starting to think about spring around February/March so I need to be ready.
