We are 'Reaching' out to you with a WSC environment analysis. Let's break down the environment here. So it's the first snowfall of the season and early in the morning. The snow is accumulated and wet enough that it covers your boots. The ground has not had a chance to freeze yet so its muddy and soft. We are installing Tyvex from extension ladders. ......... Now we are standing on the ladder, working from the ladder up to 25 feet high, stapling the Tyvek to the wal...l. ......... Let's take a look at a few of the unnecessary risks here. Workers have taken the time to set up the ladders at the correct angle, are both wearing the proper ppe and the working area looks well set up. However, when working from a ladder at a height of 8 feet or more. Measured from the bottom of your feet to the furthest potential surface you would fall to then you must maintain 3 points of contact at all times in order to not be required to tie off. Leaning out to do work outside your reachable work surface is dangerous enough but choosing to remove a foot as well as a hand and then lean out while 10 + feet in the air is asking for broken ribs, impaled lungs a hemothorax or worse. ......... Take the time to consider the risks and evaluate the worst case scenario. The control measures that could have been taken wouldn't have costed money or any significant amount of additional time. Just keep 3 points of contact and move the ladder over to access the working surface instead of reaching. . . . #wsc #workplacesafetyconsulting #advancedhealthandsafety #awareness #taketime #worksafeont #risks #healthandsafety #training #educate #askquestions #safetybrake #riskvsreward #ladders #ontario #workplace #worker #construction #constructionsafety #ohs #workplacesafety #ottawa #ottawasafetytraining #practicalfocusedenvironmentspecific #environmentspecific #realistic #advancedtrainingsolutions #advancedoccupationaltraining #reachingout See more

At least you're tied off tho . . Swingstage was pulled into the work surface to be able to reach and then an additional step on the top rail and off the building to reach the work. .... . Being aware of your surroundings, the environment, the people around you, the tools / equipment you have access to and pre-job planning are sometimes the difference between going home or not. Most of the companies I work with have extensive safety practices and procedures and yet more often then not we do not use the provided solutions. As you watch this video see how many risks these workers are taking for zero reason. All the tools are available to do the job safety and... yet laziness / rushing to get things done takes precedent once again. . . . Worker choosing to access a column via a ladder that is too short and is a step ladder being used as a single or extension ladder. Stepped off the step ladder and proceeded to stay untied at heights regardless of rebar anchorage completely accessible. Workers in the back are moving a large rebar column which is too heavy and seemingly unplanned as the worker who was working off the ladder and a second worker to the left of the video have to rush over to assist once the column starts to topple. All workers went home today . . . Will tomorrow be the same? . . . #wsc #training #ottawa #ottawasafetytraining #workplacetraining #ohstraining #safety #safetytraining #ottawasafety #ottawaconstruction #construction #constructionsafety #ohs #workplacesafetyconsulting #inspections #access #ladders #environment #environmentspecific #advancedtrainingsolutions #advancedoccupationaltraining

Why dispose of pressure vessels the correct way? Here is a propane tank that clearly did it's time . . . When approached, the valve on the tank purges propane without a device attached when turned. Imagine you're digging and hit this with your machine, because why is there a buried propane tank. . . . #propane #propanesafety #pressurized #tssa #gas #safety #safetytraining #ottawasafetytraining #workplacetraining #advancedtrainingsolutions #advancedtraining #ohstraining #workplacesafetyconsulting #wsc #training #ottawa #construction @ Ottawa, Ontario

Slinging loads is one of the most dangerous tasks in residential construction and yet people still think it's better to be untied during operations. When questioned most respond with, "I'd rather be untied if the load grabs my rope." If the losd is grabbing your rope or system then you're not paying attention to your system. One slight move could be the last nudge you ever recieve. . . . #tieoff #workplacesafetyconsulting #wsc #training #ottawa #ottawasafetytraining #workplacetraining #workplacesafetytraining #wsc #roofing #slinging #crane #craneoperation #boom #wah #workingatheights #ottawasafety #ottawatraining #practicalfocused #environmentspecific @ Ottawa, Ontario

As the seasons charge so do your training needs. Loader training becomes more popular as the cold weather and snow is right around the corner. Enjoy comprehensive, practical focused and environment specific technical training on all your devices. What a pleasure to operate the 2019 Case 721G with a 4 speed and fork attachments. Did you know that if your heavy equipment weights in at under 11,000 KG, no air brakes and a top speed of under 40 km/h then it can be operated by... someone with only a G class license and comprehensive safety focused training. . . . #721G #case721G #loader #case #caseequipment #training #safetytraining #practicalfocusedenvironmentspecific #workplacesafety #workplacesafetytraining #workplacesafetyconsulting #wsc #training #ottawa #ottawasafetytraining #workplacetraining #ohstraining #safety #advancedtrainingsolutions #advancedoccupationaltraining #advancedworkplacesafetytraining #practicalfocused #environmentspecific #interceptor #policeinterceptor #workcar @ Ottawa, Ontario See more

Early mornings at The Ottawa Hospital training staff in Working At Heights within healthcare facilities. Most people come into our training courses with the, "Why am I here? I don't work at heights" attitude. When they leave they tell me, I never would have considered certain scenarios to be exposing me to fall hazards. Let Ottawa's most environment specific and practical focused professionals train your teams and open their eyes to hazards in their environments. . . . #wsc #training #ottawa #ottawasafetytraining #workplacetraining #workplacesafetyconsulting #ohstraining #safety #advancedtrainingsolutions #ohs #ottawasafety #ottawaconstruction #construction #constructionsafety #workingatheights #wah

After 9 years in Health and Safety and 7 years of working in the field this is a new one. These photos have nothing to do with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, fees or fines. This is simple, whether a construction site, industrial establishment or even at home you fall and you're hurt if you're lucky. ... The equipment was not manufactured for the way it is being used here. How many issues do you see? . . . #wsc #training #ottawa #ottawasafetytraining #workplacetraining #workplacesafetyconsulting #ohstraining #safety #safetytraining #ottawasafety #ottawaconstruction #construction #constructionsafety #ohs #ottawasafety #workingatheights #laddersafety #healthandsafety #workplacesafety #falls #why #ohsa #ladders #russell #russellontario @health_and_safety @ Russell, Ontario

VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED . . . Sunday morning woke up without power and thought it awfully strange given the weather. So I walked to the end of the driveway and noticed the switch from the transformer to the house was blown open. Called Hydro One to report an outage and when they came they pulled a squirrel off the transformer This squirrel was blown apart and also had its tail blow clean off its body. This could be you if you don't stay a minimum of 10 feet / 3 me...ters away from powerlines. . . . #fried #friedsquirrel #electrified #power #hydroone #poweroutage #russell #ontario #advancedtrainingsolutions #wsc #workplacesafetytraining #worksafe #workplacetraining #workplacesafetytraining hydro #electricity #fatality #ripsquirrel See more
