We understand that workplaces are constantly changing; because of this, we ask that employers continually assess the risk of COVID-19 transmission and apply the hierarchy of controls as an effective approach to COVID-19 safety: Ensure that people who are sick, stay home When at work, ensure physical distancing of 2M (or 6.5 feet) Consider engineering controls such as designing and installing barriers... Implement administrative controls including cleaning and disinfecting practices, hand-washing, one-way aisles, and occupancy limits Masks can be used in combination with other measures in the hierarchy Using a combination of these controls is best Learn more about staying healthy and safe at work: http://ms.spr.ly/6182pEDF2 #LetsDoOurPartBC #COVIDBC

Public health will conduct contact tracing and connect with people who may be affected directly 3. If a COVID-19 positive person was in the workplace during the time of infection, public health will inform the employer and advise next steps... 4. Employers should monitor the workplace and continue the cleaning and disinfecting measures they already have in place 5. Employers must review and update their COVID-19 safety plan and prohibit anyone with symptoms from entering the workplace More COVID-19 FAQs here: http://ms.spr.ly/6180p1R3r #LetsDoOurPartBC #COVIDBC

That doesn’t mean that other protections (such as physical distancing) are not necessary. Mask use may be an additional control to supplement other safety measures. Each workplace is unique, and most often will need more than one type of safety measure in its COVID-19 Safety Plan....
