We officially closed for the season this weekend. That said, we have a tour lined up on the 13th. If you need to stop by next Sunday, message this page and we will make that happen.
Back to Music Monday! These are crazy times we live in. While this song was never intended to be spiritual in nature, many have adopted it as such. We all need a little of this song today and I have never heard it sung better than by central Alberta gal k.d. lang In Leonard Cohan's words, This world is full of conflicts and full of things that cannot be reconciled. But there are moments when we can reconcile and embrace the whole mess, and that’s what I mean by ‘Hallelujah...’. The song explains that many kinds of hallelujahs do exist, and all the perfect and broken hallelujahs have equal value. It’s a desire to affirm my faith in life, not in some formal religious way but with enthusiasm, with emotion. https://youtu.be/7oZN2eTgvVs
Well, time to get back at it with Fun Fact Friday. Today we have a tale of two Premiers...kind of. From our archives we have Ralph Klein who seemed to like the our gopher friends for bird treats if nothing else and Jason Kenney (then director of the Canadian Taxpayer Federation) who did not see much value in our little museum.
From all of us and out to all of you and yours Happy New Year. We are humbled and honored by your ongoing support and interest in our weird little spec on the planet.
...and just incase you want something a little more 'peppy'...I hope you all have the same kind of day this little guy is. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10159386858687845&id=90859152844
I did it! I posted every day for two weeks!!! If ever there was a song for 2020, this is it. At first full of despair and regret, it becomes an oddly optimistic ode to love, loyalty and the resiliency of the human spirit. Christmas is not easy for some, nor is life for that matter. This year has been a test for us all...but the moments of beauty, love, laughter and hope make all the muck worth it. Both heartbreaking and joyous, there is some "politically incorrect" language ...here...but I hope you can overlook it...they are Irish after all. I have tried to stick to Canadian, Albertan, local bands so Stve Pineo's version from Calgary's Ironwood is posted with the original in comments https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156873498323197&id=607398196
I had gift deliveries to make today. It seems the roads are not in my favor. This song, appropriate https://youtu.be/hrBS8yaNHTU
