Hi Everyone. I have noticed a lot more people out enjoying nature and trying to get a photograph of an owl. This is fantastic, but I think a reminder on the ethics of photographing owls may be needed. Remember that the welfare of the owl ALWAYS overrides your image. A Great Gray needs to catch 7-9 voles a day to maintain its health, and it only has a successful hunting rate of @ 30%. I have attached an article by Christopher Artuso, who is an avian biologist with the Mig...ratory Birds Conservation Unit in Ottawa. Christian also manages the Owls of the World.
