#MondayMotivation Cold days and long nights make it harder to get out of bed, let alone get the body moving. However, a little bit of movement can impact serotonin levels and improve overall mood. Here are some simple ways to get motivated during the winter months: 1. Seek out an exercise partner and/or group 2. Set goals for your health and focus on the mental health benefits 3. Maximize your days by exercising during your lunch break or start your day with quick exercises... 4. Sleep in exercise clothes or simply put on exercise clothes right after coming home from work 5. Choose a song for your morning alarm that will get you out of bed and get you excited to work out What little things do you do to get yourself motivated for exercise? Let us know in the comments below!

Today, we honour the Indigenous individuals that were sent away to Residential Schools through Orange Shirt Day. Orange Shirt Day was created in 2013 to witness and commemorate the healing journey of survivors and their families. We can support this cause by recognizing and learning about the experience and effects of Residential Schools, participating in different virtual events, donating our time and money to causes that support the Indigenous community, or by simply wearing an orange shirt today to acknowledge that every child matters. Give @orangeshirtawareness a follow and visit www.orangeshirtday.org to find out more.

#WellnessWednesday As the weather cools down, so might our motivation to get the body moving regularly. Here are some tips to help you get motivated for your daily sweat: - Dress to impress: Your workout gear should give you confidence. Looking good will make you feel good and do good. - Diversity is key: Doing the same thing every day can get boring and cause results to plateau. Mix it up by trying different activities! - Timing matters: Do you love the crack of dawn? Or ...prefer a lunch-time sweat? Learn what time of day works best for you. - Give yourself a break: You don't need to workout 7-days a week to see benefits. Listen to your body and take a break when you need it. This is better for the body in the long run. - Find Your Tribe: While some of you might enjoy your solo sweats, working out with a partner or a group of people can be powerful. Not sure who to ask? Take a class! What's your best motivation tip? Let us know in the comments below.
Cooler weather calls for a cozy mulled wine at home! Here's what you need: -Wine - any delicious red will do -Fresh Oranges... -Spices: Star Anise, cloves, ginger -Sweetener -(Optional) Extra liqueur: Brandy, bourbon, or cognac How to make: Combine ingredients. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and give them a quick stir. Simmer. Heat until the wine just barely reaches a simmer over medium-high heat. (Avoid letting it bubble you don’t want to boil off the alcohol.) Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes or up to 3 hours. Strain and season. Using a fine mesh strainer, remove and discard the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and ginger. Give the mulled wine a taste, and stir in your desired amount of extra sweetener if needed. Enjoy!
