Sort It Santa is Baaaack! What will he get up to this year? Follow along to find out! His little buddy will be joining him this year, but to get his magic, he needs a name. Do you have any ideas?
#Shoutout to Bootleg Brew Co. for #sorting out a #glass issue in Corner Brook! You can bring your Bootleg bottles back to them - and all other bottles directly to Scotia Recycling. Please DO NOT place GLASS into your Blue Curbside Recycling bag as these bags are compressed before landing at the facility for sorting.
Sort-it Santa and Rec-It Ralph took a break from recycling education today to make snow people out of Styrofoam balls. Styrofoam cannot be recycled in #WesternNewfoundland so they are re-purposing these instead. #sortitwestern #sortitsanta #trashortreasure #styrofoamisgarbage
Oh Snow! Where do toys go? It looks like our friends are celebrating the snow we got last night by making themselves into a Snow Globe! Good news is, when they are done playing playing with their broken toys they can scoop them up into the clear bag and send them on their way. ... Sadly we are not close enough to the North Pole to get Santa's elves to fix and re-purpose old toys, so when our toys are at the end of their useful life, we have to throw them into the clear garbage bag. If you have toys that are still in good condition, consider donating them to another family before throwing them away.
"We sent him a list, he's checking it twice; Rec-it Ralph want's to be nice Empty, Rinse, and Wipe it out When in doubt, just throw it out!"... Rec-it Ralph and Sort-it Santa are writing jingles this morning. They want to make sure they are only placing what can be recycled into the blue bag. Do you have any rhymes we can add to our jingle that help you remember what to recycle?
Rec-it Ralph caught Sort-it Santa throwing wrapping paper into the Recycling Bin, so our little elf wrapped up Santa and laid him under the Christmas Tree instead. Printed gift wrap, like what we see here, cannot be recycled. If you receive presents wrapped in this paper, please toss it in the clear bag. Gift bags cannot be recycled either. When giving presents this year, consider wrapping them in sustainable paper such as kraft wrapping paper. You can decorate this paper with stamps, and it can be recycled after the gift has been opened!
Sort-it Santa is showing Rec-it Ralph where old clothing, rags, and textiles go. Into the CLEAR bag Santa goes, because textiles and clothing can't be recycled. #sortitsanta #sortitwestern #TrashOrTreasure
