As of January 1, 2018 Ontario workers have been entitled to benefits for chronic mental stress for arising in and out of the workers employment. Chronic Mental Stress can arise from workplace harassment or bullying. Workplace harassment occurs when people engage in a course of vexatious comment or conduct against a worker, including bullying, that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome. Workplace harassment is a substantial work related stressor, that can cause an employee to miss work, or stop working all together.
