I am preparing to travel out to batoche, Saskatchewan for the WWOS closing ceremonies. I am bringing with me 372 beaded hearts that were created from all o...f our bead-ins over the last 7 years. Miigwech from my whole being to all of those who contributedfrom daycares, jails, high schools, conferences, colleges, university, community health centres, union meetings, and art galleries- all ages, races, economic situations, beliefs, levels of skills, etc.....the energy of these beaded hearts is caring and loving. A visual representation of compassion and understanding. Some of the hearts are only partway done to represent the unfinished lives of our women. Others elaborate while others have 4 beads on them. I love all of them. They will be a part of the Giveaway -Miigwech Miigwech Miigwech I love the memories contained in these hearts too...deep and sad conversations, hopeful ones, poetic responses to violence, grief, education, and most importantly people became friends with another Thanks to all the helpers that volunteered their time to host these ever important bead-ins See more

Update on the closing ceremony: The public exhibit will close on August 18 at 1 PM. At this time, the final ceremony will begin with pipe ceremony, feast and giveaway. All are welcome to attend. Please bring your own feast plates.
