An update from Football Alberta: Football Alberta COVID-19 Statement (as of June 9, 2020) Football’s Re-Opening in Alberta Update... As is the way of the world these days, things are moving very quickly. Today, Premier Kenney announced that Stage 2 of Alberta’s Re-Opening will begin as of this Friday, June 12. As well, they have bumped up certain things into Stage 2 from Stage 3 including the resumption of Team Sports. Football Alberta is currently working on a re-opening document in consultation with Football Canada and our legal advisor and will be looking for Board approval this Thursday, June 11. Following that we will have an official announcement this Friday, June 12 about the resumption of football with restrictions as prescribed by Stage 2 of Alberta’s re-opening. Thank you to our members for their patience and commitment to flattening the curve and stopping the spread throughout the last three months. Although this is good news we encourage everyone to continue their vigilance. We are only able to continue to relax restrictions if we keep the COVID-19 numbers low.
