With Hurricane Teddy on the way and early dismissal, here are some fun ways to pass time. Stay safe everyone!
May is Children's Mental Health Awareness Month. There have been so many changes in response to protecting all of us from the consequences of Coronavirus. Everyone, including our children, has experienced some level of anxiety. Wondering what to say in some of these moments? Well, first I would suggest taking a slow deep breath. It's great for self-care as well as models a great in-the-moment strategies for your kiddos. Teach your kids by telling them to pretend they are smelling a favourite flower (or other smell - I like fresh baked cookies) and then pretend they are blowing out their birthday candles. For some helpful words to say, see below.

Hope you find this article helpful. A few of the take home messages include predictability, consistency, and routine as we adapt to the societal changes for everyone's health and safety. Again, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have, just send me a message. We can correspond through messages, phone or other forms of telecommunication.
Something fun to do with the kiddos to get them moving and reading with a bit of excitement. What will be waiting at the last clue?
