VIAHA is in urgent need of a U13 Managing Director for Island League Competitive. Please email the office at [email protected] or call 250-751-8811 if you are interested in more info. This is a Volunteer position and we prefer that the person in the position not have a child in the the same Division/League.

After a recent poll & vote the VIAHA Executive Committee (which includes the MHA Presidents) elected to continue on with the District's T1 Host Program which allows players from lower Tiered MHA`s to attend tryouts at the nearest Tier 1 Host Association. We strongly believe that all players and families should have affordable opportunities to play higher level hockey available to them. Interested players wishing to participate should complete and submit the attached up-dated form so our T1 Associations can prepare. A link to the form is provided below in the comment section as well.

If you are a U13, U15 or U18 (old wording Peewee, Bantam & Midget) Female Player from Kerry Park North looking to play at a more competitive level VIAHA encourages you to register for the possible coming season so we know we have the interest. Your your payments will not be cashed until we know when we can get into the rinks AND if we have enough interest to proceed with the tryouts. Female Players planning to tryout for BC Hockey's AAA U18 team will (as always) get fully refunded if they make the AAA team and accept the spot. Help us get ready for YOU! See link to the North Island Registration form in comment section below or head to the VIAHA website main page - look for & select 'North Player 2020 Female Regional North Tryout Camp Registration Form'

VIAHA 26.09.2020

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND IN REGARDS TO THE RETURN TO HOCKEY: 1) Most rinks are not open and when they do open it will not all be at the same time. *League schedules cannot be planned or created until enough ice is made available 2) Team Travel and Accommodations may not be permitted for a long time - the season and the type of play may look alot different - especially for competitive teams who belong in leagues that require travel in order play. 3) The focus of the organizati...on you are registering with should be the safety of your child. They should be as transparent and honest as possible on where the return to hockey is actually at. 4) Given the current crisis things can change quickly. It is still important to register with your local Association so that they know how many participants they will have 5) We are all bound by Health Authority guidelines and currently those guidelines do not list specific dates. We are all working diligently to be ready for what will be a step by step return. A link to some Return to Hockey Info from BC Hockey is pasted within the comments. It's important to remember this is what the return MAY look like. Its intended to help Associations in their preparations. Our local District MHA's will be receiving more helpful details on the return to Hockey within the next 2 days from VIAHA. Thank you. See more
