DRIVER SPOTLIGHT Our first driver spotlight of 2021 is on Matthew Bertsch of Nokomis, SK! Matthew is coming to Wyant Group Raceway after the purchase of a SLM late last year! Get to know Matthew before he hits the track! ... Q: What is your racing background? A: It started with spending most of my weekends at the local dirt tracks in southern Saskatchewan and Alberta. My dad used to race street stocks at Medicine Hat Speedway in the 90’s before retiring from his racing career. Growing up I’ve raced motocross, and most recently karts. I spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons running the Rotax Senior and Rotax DD2 classes at WF Botkin Raceway in Regina. Q: How/Why did you decide to join the late model division? A: I’ve always dreamt of moving to stock cars with the late model division being my ultimate goal. After the 2020 kart season I had an opportunity come up to run the super late models at Wyant Group Raceway. With the complexity and speeds of the cars, this wasn’t an opportunity I could pass up. Q: What are your goals for 2021? A: My first goal is to get on track and get comfortable in the car. Going from open wheel to a full sized stock car will no doubt be an adjustment. From there my goals are to keep learning and be as competitive as possible. I’m looking forward to having fans back at the tracks and to put on a show for all of those that come out and support us!

We are looking for volunteers for a track work party on Saturday, September 26th beginning at 9am. Please bring cordless drills, side cutters, gloves, etc. Morning snack and coffee will be provided. *If we are rained out on the 26th, work party will be postponed until October 3rd.*

Results for 8/22/2020 - Wyant Group Raceway - Saskatoon, SK The skies may have been threatening for a while but it was all friendly rivalry on the track at Wyant Group Raceway Saturday night. Temperatures soared to over 30 degrees in the afternoon with high winds. It cooled to 18 by the final features, but the action on the track didn’t cool.
