It’s been a busy day. Made an Irish Stout beer to be ready in a couple weeks, bottled up a Red Currant Mead started in spring of last year, and started a Haskap Mead to be ready in about 6 months. I still have a batch of Sea Buckthorn Mead brewing too! By the way, I still have lots of honey for the winter if you are in need!
A beautiful warm day and the bees were buzzing about the bird bath getting hydrated! You can see the beehives wrapped in the back ground.
I have 10 more jars of spring honey left from this year. I sell them paired with a summer honey for $20.
Last week, my daughter Annelise and I did a second honey extraction! The bees have been very generous here. Below is a picture of the three colours of honey that has been collected by the bees.
The bees are bearding outside the hives. They do that when it is warm out and today was warm! I also caught a swarm by just putting out a box with frames. It has been out for about 6 weeks. Today it paid off!
Here's an interview I did with Radio-Canada about starting seeds in spring and a little about Grow Regina as well. It's in French! Amusez-vous!
