XCaliber Crane and Rigging 21.09.2020

Update: The 360 has been recovered without further incident and everyone at XCaliber is breathing a huge sigh of relief. While the events on Friday morning were serious and gut wrenching for us all, fortunately there was no loss to life or limb and for that we are thankful. We would like to take this opportunity to say how grateful we are to our friends and colleagues who reached out to express concern and offer support over the past couple of days. Thank you also to e...veryone who took the time to respectfully share your comments on Facebook and other social media platforms. News like this tends to spread like wildfire and while speculation and negative commentary is frustrating and not helpful, sadly it is to be expected in this day and age. We have thick skin, but none the less we truly appreciate those of you out there who calmly and intelligently defended our company, our operators and our industry. We know that you crane guys (and those of you that live with crane guys) know what’s what. Finally, to the residents of Ambleside who were impacted by the recovery process, especially those in the EVE community across the street, we appreciate your patience with us and your tolerance of the traffic and noise disruption caused by such an undertaking. We promise we won’t do that again . A special thank you goes out to the following who assisted with the recovery: - Darin and the team from Red Engineering, whose excellent service allowed us to get things rolling quickly, which was nice, but more importantly ensured that the process was done safely from start to finish. - Ernie and Dakota from Swift Fox Oilfield Services Ltd. who spent countless hours providing traffic control and security in addition to their pilot truck services. - Bob van Engelen, whose knowledge, experience and insight were critical components of the success of the recovery. - Devin Grenier ,Tyson Seehagel , Andy Case, Mike Lavoie and Michael Myshak from MCR for immediately reaching out and getting the 500ton out to the site on such short notice. - Regan from Prestige Hauling for stopping by with lunch for the guys. - Troy and the awesome crew from Matrix Heavy Haul and Transportation for making the load out go so smoothly. - John at Maelstrom Transport for getting more trucks out to us when we needed them. For those of you who are just hearing this news for the first time and are wondering what the heck happened, we will defer to the expert analysis of our friend Justin Jeffries: "Crane tipped over."
