Dev Report 2: What new about Xtinction? Well first KolNet will be on his way soon enough quickly follower by game fondation. But I'm not here to talk about this, in this Dev Report I will be talking about the base stat system. The Goal with the stat system was to allow you to build your character in the way you wanted to play him. We tried to make it so that there isn't a stronger stat but rather a group synergies of different 'kind' of stats compositions. The Idea was to let... you chose the way you wanted to play and precisely tune the stats according to your game play style and then fit your game play style with the group to each have strength that make up for each other weakness. The Thing we did is we made 5 base stats that each correspond to 2 different play style: Stamina for Tank and Gatherer, Strength for Gatherer and Melee Fighter, Agility for Tank and Gatherer, Focus for Range Fighter and Faster Action, Will for Tank. Yet some play style appear more often than other, although they each impact in different way. Each of the base stats grant you two unique concrete stats. Those concrete stats are: Endurance which allow you to run longer, Health Point, Carry Weight, Melee Damage, Dodge which allow you to dodge melee hit, Speed which determine the speed at which you move, Accuracy which increase base gun accuracy, Haste which determine speed at which you execute actions such as looting and building, HP Regen, and Toughness which reduce all incoming damage by a percentage. The Result is while some concrete stats allow you to define the way you deal damage, some other change the way you avoid damage and some other change the way you sneak around. They are matched in base stats in way to maximize efficient combos in same time as preventing overpower composition that would otherwise become must pick stats. Ultimately, this allow you to chose the way you want to play your character and in same time it won't make you feel like you miss on something because you chased to be a melee fighter gatherer while giving up on tankyness you decided to rater go for dodge as survivability option. Each play style is to be as viable as the one your friends picked, and the best part they are all designed to synergize with each other in different way making not only your play style unique but your whole group even more unique as a whole.
