A Tribute to My Papa.... Thought I would share a little back story on myself & the making of Y4 custom cinches! Of course for those of you that know me, you would know horses have always been a huge part of my life & a great passion of mine. Along with that, tack & horse gear have also always been a great fascination of mine. My very first saddle of my own was given to me from my Papa at the age of 5 & was my first most prized possession. Since that young age I have always t...aken a lot of pride in the gear I use. Mohair cinches being one of them, as they are one of the most comfortable/natural feeling cinches for a horse to wear. Of course the first person I was excited to tell about my new endeavour was my Papa, one of my biggest supporters. He was just about as excited as I was, if not more & said he couldn’t wait to see my first products! My Nana & Papa were in the horse business for many years raising Quarter Horses, known as Y4 Quarter Horses. As they transitioned into retirement Nana & Papa spread some of their things out among their kids & grandkids. I was fortunate enough to be passed down the Y4 brand, which gave me the ultimate amount of pride to know my Papa wanted me to carry this on. The horse pictured below Billy was one of the last colts my Papa raised, one of his favourites too & I couldn’t be more proud to have Billy passed down to me. Papa’s nickname for me has always been Billy, so this horse holds a special place in my heart. This past year my Papa was diagnosed with terminal cancer & we lost him in late August. I am honoured to be able to carry on my Papa’s brand & hopefully one day be able to pass it on to the next generation of our family.
